New York’s newest Republican power couple made it official Saturday, June 4, 2011. Gristedes heiress Andrea Catsimatidis, 21, and the late President Richard Nixon’s grandson Christopher Nixon Cox, 32, were married at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity on Manhattan’s upper East side.
The wedding took place little more than a week shy of the 40th anniversary of the White House wedding of Cox’s parents, Tricia Nixon and New York State Republican party chief Edward Finch Cox. Andrea’s parents are Margo and John Catsimatidis.
She’s the publisher of the Hellenic Times. He’s the billionaire owner of the Red Apple Group supermarket empire. Andrea, who wore a Reem Acra dress, and her husband then celebrated their vows with a starry bipartisan throng of 700 guests at the Waldorf Astoria that included many of the city’s – and the nation’s – elite:

Although the couple are true-Red Republicans, Democrat Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney is taking credit for matching the love birds when she opposed Chris during a mock presidential debate at Andrea’s high school, Hewitt, in 2008.
In keeping with the Greek tradition, Congressman Gus Bilirakis served as the groom’s Koumbaros, or best man.
Ed Cox got a laugh when, in his toast, he said that since John Boehner is now speaker of the House, “it’s okay if I tear up a bit.”
He then told the bride’s parents that he and his wife were “proud” to call A.J., as she is known to friends, “our daughter, too.” πηγή:kalami
