Ημέρα των προεδρικών εγκαινίων, ήταν πολύ διαφορετικό από αυτό που έζησα πριν από τέσσερα χρόνια. με τον ίδιο πρόεδρο

I was in DC last night as I was four years ago on the eve of the presidential inauguration. This time there were no groups of people dancing on the streets, neither the excitement of a real new beginning we witnessed in 2009 on the face of thousands of people who flocked in the capital from all over the country and from all over the world
Last night you could find hotel rooms even in the center and invitations to the inauguration were offered by the bunch, especially for the back seats. Yet, this change of mood augurs well for the country: supporters have matured and the president has matured.
Four years ago he was sworn in as a visionary leader with the mandate to introduce long overdue breakthroughs.
Today, he was sworn in as a statesman, expected to deal with the ever complex realities of a society that has been reluctant to come to terms with herself.
At this point, even success by the standards of old has no chance and neither has revolution. Middle ground too, would mean mediocrity in the best case. However, what’s left for President Obama is all that and much more and if he can’t find it he can only create it!
Good luck
